This appears to be originating from: 2755 *) if test ! -d $INSTALLROOT 2756 then INSTALLROOT=$PACKAGEROOT; where INSTALLROOT=PACKAGEROOT and 'clean' deletes everything under INSTALLROOT thus deleting the entire git repo.
